Finding My Voice as a Digital Storyteller
My name is Paris Fieldings, and I am a digital storyteller learning how to express real life into something powerful on screen. This first vlog is not only an introduction of who I am for my viewers, but to show why I create. Because of my background as a student athlete and a young student journalist, I believe that I have the potential to create more impactful stories. I want this to be a safe place where those two worlds of golf and journalism collide. Those experiences have shaped how I see the world and how I approach storytelling. They influence both the stories I choose to tell and the way I tell them.
I strongly believe that narratives or stories are how people are able to understand and sympathize with each other. They have the ability to change how we think, help us remember, and connect us in the most unexpected ways. That power comes from intentional digital storytelling. You have to know when and how to frame or amplify significant information. Sometimes, you might not share all of the information you have gathered. To be an effective digital storyteller in a world with overflowing content, you must treat your narrative with care. This means that they must prioritize clarity, authenticity, and purpose in each of their narratives.
As a digital storyteller, my goal is to create content that is genuine and meaningful. Whether it is simply documenting everyday moments or highlighting voices that are often overlooked, I want my storytelling to bring attention to stories that are often overlooked. On this channel, you will see the behind-the-scenes moments of my journey in learning to become a digital storyteller. You will also see growth over time, both creatively and personally. This safe space is meant to be honest and reflective. This channel represents both where I am now and where I hope to grow. It is a space for learning, reflection, and intentional storytelling. So, I invite you to join me on this journey, as this vlog marks my first step as a digital storyteller.
